Scope of Work

What a Steilacoom bathroom remodel includes

Every remodel is scoped to your home, your written estimate lists exactly what's included. A sample of what we cover:

Walk-in showers with frameless glass, linear drains, and built-in niches
Tub-to-shower conversions and freestanding tub installations
Floor-to-ceiling tile: porcelain, marble, hex, and mosaic patterns
Heated floor systems installed under tile
Custom vanities, stone tops, and bespoke storage
Waterproofing done to spec, Schluter and equivalent membrane systems
Ventilation, lighting, and electrical brought to current code
ADA and aging-in-place modifications: curbless entries, grab bar blocking, comfort-height fixtures

Most bathroom renovations finish in 2–4 weeks. Tile-heavy designs and custom glass add time at the end, we sequence ordering so glass templating never stalls the project.

Local Knowledge

Remodeling Steilacoom homes

Steilacoom is Washington's oldest incorporated town, a small waterfront community of historic homes and mid-century view properties above Puget Sound. Renovations here lean toward respectful updates of older homes and kitchen, bath, and flooring work that protects the character owners bought into.

Permits: the Town of Steilacoom issues residential remodel permits through its Building department. We handle the entire permit process, applications, plan documents, and inspection scheduling, on every project.

DA Interiors exceeded our expectations PERIOD. Don't let their youthful appearance fool you, they are hardworking, diligent, honest, skilled and respectful. Our three bathrooms were demolished and transformed into a beautiful work of art.

DA Interior Solutions redesigned two bathrooms for us and completed a kitchen remodel. We couldn't be happier with the results. They were a pleasure to work with, often going above and beyond expectations. On budget and on time, we would love to work with them again on any future projects.

Did an excellent job doing a complete renovation/remodel of our bathroom and repairing/replacing a portion of siding on house. Really listened to what I wanted for my dream bathroom and delivered A+. I definitely will be hiring them for my next project.

Budget & Planning

What to expect on cost

Bathroom budgets depend mostly on tile scope and whether fixtures move. A tub-to-shower conversion in the existing footprint is a very different project from a full primary-suite gut, your free estimate prices each clearly.

Q & A

Questions, answered straight

How long will I be without a working bathroom?

If your home has a second bathroom, you'll barely notice, we contain the work area completely. For single-bathroom homes we sequence demo, waterproofing, and fixture-setting to restore a working toilet and shower as fast as the waterproofing cure times safely allow, and we tell you that schedule before demo starts.

What's the difference between a budget shower and one that lasts 20 years?

Waterproofing. Tile and grout are not waterproof, the membrane system behind them is what protects your framing. We use modern bonded membrane systems and flood-test pans before a single tile goes up. It's the part of the job you'll never see, and it's the part we're pickiest about.

Can you make my bathroom safer for aging in place without it looking clinical?

Yes, this is one of our most requested projects. Curbless showers, hidden grab-bar blocking installed behind the tile (so bars can be added later, anywhere), comfort-height toilets, and slip-rated tile can all read as high-end design choices rather than medical equipment.

Which Steilacoom neighborhoods do you serve?

All of Steilacoom, including Old Town Steilacoom, Saltars Point, Chambers Creek, plus the surrounding Pierce County area. We're about 25 minutes from our shop.

Who handles remodel permits in Steilacoom?

For projects in Steilacoom, the Town of Steilacoom issues residential remodel permits through its Building department. We prepare and submit all permit applications and schedule every inspection on your behalf, you never deal with the counter.
